MRBEAST AND MARK ROBER: WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE $40 MILLION?
TeamWater moves the YouTubers from videos to taps. One Cambodian home shows why fundraising is not the end.

Hoeung Lang, 54, lives in Cambodia’s Kampong Chhnang province. For years she collected water from a well. In February 2026 workers connect her house to the water network: now she opens a tap. A small scene beside millions raised, but one worth following.
A month to change things
MrBeast and Mark Rober launch TeamWater on 1 August 2025. Before month’s end, the campaign reaches forty million dollars, supported by creators worldwide and a seventeen-hour livestream.
Then building work follows the screen’s numbers. The goal is safe water for two million people by 2030: a target to achieve, not a completed result.
Each place needs its solution
Cambodian houses connect to networks. Dozens of Appalachian families in the United States gain connections; indigenous communities in Brazil receive filters. Elsewhere, projects collect rainwater, build solar-powered systems and train maintenance technicians. Bringing water, making it safe and keeping it working all matter.
In Chattogram, Bangladesh, a project running until 2030 aims to improve service for more than two hundred thousand people, using meters, an app and repair teams.
An enormous problem
A WHO and UNICEF report published in 2025 says 2.1 billion people lacked safely managed drinking water in 2024: near home, available when needed and uncontaminated. Distance from a well is only one issue.
Hoeung Lang’s tap is a first concrete chapter. Follow participating organisations’ updates to see what comes next: a functioning network tells the result better than any counter.
