Data controller

The data controller is Marzia Foti, founder of CHIARA!. For questions about your data, write to info@chiaramagazine.it. You can request access, correction or deletion and object to its use. If you believe your data is not being handled correctly, you can lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority (garanteprivacy.it).

Who helps us manage data

Newsletter: email addresses for the CHIARA! Letter are managed by Brevo, which stores them on our behalf. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of each email.

Hosting: this website is hosted through ChatGPT Sites, provided by OpenAI, using Cloudflare web hosting infrastructure. These services handle the technical connection data needed to operate the website.

Newsletter: consent and retention

Subscribing is optional. Processing your email address to send the newsletter relies on your consent (GDPR Article 6(1)(a)). You can withdraw it through the unsubscribe link or by contacting info@chiaramagazine.it, without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.

Your address is used for the newsletter while your subscription remains active. After withdrawal it is no longer used for sending; only data needed to evidence consent or honour the unsubscribe request may be retained for as long as needed for those purposes. Erasure requests are also handled with Brevo. These retention criteria do not promise immediate deletion from every provider backup.

This notice concerns sending the newsletter. Any technology measuring openings or behaviour requires a separate review of configuration, information and applicable permissions.

Messages and replies

We receive your email address, chosen name or pen name and message to read your request, reply and consider an editorial proposal. Sending a message is optional and does not subscribe you to the newsletter. Ordinary correspondence is handled under legitimate interests in replying to unsolicited requests (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)); you may object.

Publication and sensitive details

Sending a letter does not authorise publication. We will agree the text and pen name and obtain separate permission and consent where required. We do not publish your email address and remove identifying details. Avoid unnecessary sensitive information and details identifying third parties. Explicit, specific consent will be requested before any applicable use of your special-category data. A pen name alone does not guarantee anonymity.

Minors, access and retention

Publication proposals from people under eighteen require involvement and permission from the person with parental responsibility. Do not send identity documents, photographs or chat screenshots in your first email. The controller, authorised editors and necessary email service providers may access messages. Correspondence is retained as needed to complete the exchange and any proposal; publication permissions may be kept to document agreed use and protect associated rights. Letters are not sold or used for advertising, automated decisions or profiling. This is not an emergency service.

Your rights

You may request access, correction, erasure, restriction and, where applicable, portability; object or withdraw consent. Contact info@chiaramagazine.it with “Privacy — Heart to Heart”. You may request removal from the website, although copies distributed by third parties may remain. You may complain to the Italian data protection authority.

Articles and games need no profile. Game answers stay on the page and are not sent to the editors. With your consent, Google Analytics measures visits using analytics cookies. We do not load Google Analytics before consent or after refusal. Change or withdraw consent using Statistics preferences in the footer; your choice is stored locally for 180 days. Advertising features and Google Signals are disabled. Google handles browsing data under its privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. Game answers, letters and newsletter-form data are not sent to analytics. Opening the newsletter page connects your browser to Brevo at sibforms.com; submitted subscription data is handled through Brevo.

Images and fonts are hosted on this site. CHIARA!’s hosting service processes technical data needed for connections and authentication for restricted access. External links lead to services with their own privacy policies.

When you email us directly, you share your address and message with the receiving mailbox. Avoid unnecessary sensitive information. Data enquiries: info@chiaramagazine.it.
