Some people have been on our screens so long that we imagine we know their story. Then a conversation shows how much remained to hear.

Marina La Rosa spoke to Verissimo in February 2026 about her mother, her marriage ending and psychology studies. Among important relationships and difficult transitions, she also spoke about faith.

Missing a mother’s voice

On Verissimo, Marina described her mother Giuseppina’s everyday presence and missing her voice. The programme also devoted videos to her mother’s last letter and Marina’s memories in the studio.

Speaking about her faith, she said: ‘I believe in God and think those who leave remain beside us.’

This is a personal conviction within an account of affection. We can receive it without inventing an unknown religious biography. She is speaking about her mother and a bond she continues to feel.

Anyone bereaved may recognise absence in ordinary things: a call that never comes, a voice you long to hear. Everyone seeks words for it. Marina also chose the language of faith.

Listening to yourself when something must change

Verissimo’s official summary, published on 16 February, describes her separation from former husband Guido. She recalled her investment in the marriage and the difficulty of recognising a need to stop after trying to save it.

This is her account of a painful period. It asks us to attend to the person sharing it, without assigning blame or proposing a universal recipe for separation.

Some decisions take time. Before making them, we may need to hear our own distress and recognise that it deserves support.

A new direction: studying to listen to others

Speaking in the Grande Fratello Vip house in September 2026, Marina described enrolling in psychology after a long personal analysis journey. The programme and Verissimo now present her as a psychologist.

Returning to study means time, commitment and accepting that there is more to learn. Personal suffering can open questions; a profession then requires specific preparation.

Her public account contains both experience and the choice to study. This gives practical meaning to starting again: a new chapter also contains decisions and work.

‘I really enjoy being with them’

In that September conversation, Marina discussed her sons Renato and Gabriele, their sensitivity, different characters and interests. Asked whether she considered herself a good mother, she said they should be asked.

She acknowledged mistakes and added that she enjoyed spending time with her sons. Everyday words express the wish for closeness.

This account of motherhood deserves room too: recognising limits, noticing who children are becoming and enjoying time together. As they grow, relationships need new ways to meet.

The beauty of a story still open

These fragments show someone remembering her mother, facing relationship change, choosing education and enjoying her sons’ company. They are what she chose to share, enough to merit more attentive listening.

Her story leaves a possibility: keep discovering who we can become while caring for what we love. A call to children, a page to study, a memory to treasure. Life can begin again through these things too.
