HAIR, LET'S KEEP IT SIMPLE! JENNIFER LAWRENCE'S NEW BET

The actor launches mes° with three products for treatment and styling. The news offers a reason to organise our routines: understanding a cosmetic's purpose comes before adding it to the basket.

You have already searched for your keys twice, your coffee is cooling and your hair has decided to go its own way. At moments like these, a simple routine sounds like a wonderful promise. That is the territory Jennifer Lawrence is entering with mes°, her new haircare brand. Before wanting another bottle, though, we can ask a very practical question: which problem would I like to address, and what do I already own that might help me with it? The answer may be more useful than another beautifully arranged shelf.

Three products, three stated purposes

Jennifer Lawrence launched mes° on 27 October 2026 with Arcaea, founded by Jasmina Aganovic. It starts with Multitask Repair Mask, Good Roots Volume Mist and Off-Duty Restyling Serum: a mask, volume spray and restyling serum. Sales were announced through mesbeauty.com; check delivery destinations before ordering from Italy.

The site also has The Social Experiment, the campaign film. Here is the everyday question to take to the mirror: how much time do we want to spend on our hair? Which steps actually help between the alarm and leaving home?

Start with the result you want

Try describing your goal without naming a product. Would you like more movement at the roots? A way to reshape the lengths after tying them back? Do you want to understand why styling takes so many attempts? Giving a precise name to the result you want helps avoid buying a treatment while expecting a styling effect, or asking a volumiser to perform a different job from the one it was formulated to do. Clear expectations make it easier to compare the information you find.

Then write down the steps you actually follow in an ordinary week. Shampoo, conditioner, an occasional treatment, drying and finishing products may each have a role, but you do not need to add them all to copy a routine online. If you have a trusted hairdresser, bring this small map and explain your time, habits and desired result. It is a more useful starting point than showing a photograph without explaining how you live with your hair from one ordinary morning to the next.

A mask, volume and a refresh are different jobs

Understand a mask through its instructions: quantity, where to apply it, how long to leave it and whether to rinse. Not all masks work in the same way. Even if one name suggests a benefit similar to another product, do not automatically transfer your habits between them. The mes° launch includes a mask the brand specifies for dry hair: that does not mean every mask already in your bathroom is suitable for the same use, or that its instructions should be changed to match a new launch.

A volumising product should be considered in relation to the root effect you want and the drying method its instructions require. A serum for refreshing a hairstyle addresses another moment in the routine. These distinctions help you read labels; they do not establish that everyone needs three separate bottles. You might discover that a step is useful only for certain occasions, or that a product you already own does the job well. The point is to understand the function before deciding whether it belongs in your week.

Percentages tell only part of the story

When a launch promises less breakage, less frizz or more volume, look for the testing conditions: what was measured, against which comparison and with what method of use. Commercial numbers do not automatically describe what you will see on your own hair. For mes°, we keep the claims attributed to the brand rather than repeating them as independent findings. The distinction matters particularly when a very precise promise encourages you to imagine a guaranteed transformation, without knowing how the comparison was actually made.

You can take the same approach to any launch. Attractive packaging and a famous face make a product recognisable; deciding whether it suits you requires information about its use and your own needs. If you have a persistent scalp problem, pain or hair loss that worries you, speak with a healthcare professional. A beauty campaign cannot replace a personal assessment. Looking for appropriate advice is also a way of making your routine clearer, especially when a concern goes beyond how a finished hairstyle looks.

Try simplifying one step at a time

When organising your routine, avoid changing everything on the same day. Look at what you use, check whether you are following its instructions and choose one aspect to assess. You can note whether you like the result, whether application is manageable and whether the time involved fits your mornings. This is not a scientific test; it is a personal reminder that helps you recognise habits you can maintain. A routine has to work on a busy weekday as well as on a leisurely afternoon.

Above all, avoid turning simplicity into another demand for perfection. Some days will involve careful styling and others tied-back hair as you rush out of the door. Jennifer Lawrence's launch gives us a starting point for the conversation; the final choice belongs to your life, schedule and budget. The question to take into the bathroom tomorrow can be this: which step will actually be useful to me today? Start there, and perhaps the rest of the morning will feel a little easier too.
