Three kittens in a truck bumper, and someone who stops to save them
From Alba to Altare, hidden on a truck. Workers at the Bormioli glassworks and the driver rescued them. A small story with a question for all of us: do we still notice those who need help?

Three kittens, two males and a female. A truck that left Alba and arrived at the Bormioli glassworks in Altare, in the province of Savona. And a dangerous hiding place: the vehicle’s rear bumper. This is where the story reported by Savonanews on 28 October begins. One of those news items that, among so many others, makes you stop scrolling.
Because the journey could have ended badly. And because, this time, someone noticed them and acted to get them out. Workers at the plant and the driver stepped in. The rescue was successful: all three little ones were recovered.
An arrival nobody expected
The kittens travelled several kilometres hidden at the back of the lorry. How they got there remains unknown. The glassworks workers and the driver changed the course of their journey when they noticed and rescued them.
Three lives in danger and people who stopped to help. That is the relief in this news: the tiny passengers’ journey ended with someone ready to get them out.
Lida’s thanks, and a question still unanswered
Lida’s Val Bormida branch shared the story on social media and thanked the glassworks workers and the driver. The message quoted by Savonanews also raises a concern: the association hopes that the three rescued animals were the only ones on the vehicle. It is not known whether they were travelling with other kittens.
This is a concern, not a report of other animals falling along the road. The distinction matters, even when we tell a moving story. We can be happy about the rescue without answering questions that remain unresolved.
For news of how they are doing and any adoption opportunities, contact the association. Before sharing an appeal, ask for an update: affection can take a moment to check too.
Care begins when we notice
How often is our mind already somewhere else? We are finishing a shift, checking the time, thinking about the next thing to do. It is an everyday scene many of us recognise. This rescue makes us think about how much an interruption can matter: seeing a need and giving it our attention.
We do not know the motivations or faith of the people who intervened. Their action has a concrete value that we can recognise for what it is. They saw animals in difficulty and acted to save them. For those three kittens, that was what made the difference.
Tenderness has something to teach us too
In the Christian faith, kindness towards animals finds clear expression. In paragraph 2416, the Catechism recognises them as God’s creatures and recalls the gentleness with which saints such as Francis of Assisi and Philip Neri treated them. Paragraph 2418 condemns causing them needless suffering.
This reference gives tenderness depth without asking this incident to become something else. For us at CHIARA!, there is a simple question to carry into the day: what changes around me when I really pay attention? Sometimes I will not have the means to solve everything. But I can stop, report a problem and look for someone who can help.
Before starting the engine, take a look around the vehicle, especially if you have noticed animals nearby. If one is trapped, keep the vehicle still and seek help without putting yourself at risk. The next useful act of care could begin beside your car keys.
