A PLACE IN THE TEAM CAN CHANGE EVERYTHING: SPORT WELCOMES PEOPLE WHO HAD TO FLEE HOME
From 11 to 17 October, Sport for Refugees dedicated a week to sport as a route to protection and participation for refugees.

Joining a team means learning names, having a regular appointment and knowing someone expects you. Such encounters can matter to someone forced to leave their country. How do we build a sporting project that truly listens to its participants?
A week to talk with the people involved
From 11 to 17 October 2026, sportanddev and the Sport for Refugees Coalition scheduled the Week of Action Beyond the Game. Its central question: how can sport protect refugees and open opportunities?
The week gathers experiences and proposals, discussing partnerships, access to services and displaced people’s right to have a say in decisions affecting them.
Written contributions: the deadline has passed
The online meetings on 13 and 15 October and the 25 October 2026 deadline for written contributions have passed. For future opportunities, follow sportanddev and the Sport for Refugees Coalition: the wish to work together can continue beyond this week.
Take this question home: who is still missing from our team? Listening may be a first step.
