JOVANOTTI AT THE CINEMA: MEET THE LORENZO BEHIND THE SONGS!

Seven years of filming, family memories and the courage to let others tell your story. At the Rome Film Fest, Jovanotti meets himself on the big screen.

Imagine sitting in a cinema and seeing the child you once were on screen. Then the songs, the people you loved, the journeys. Jovanotti experienced this with Lorenzo – L’incredibile avventura di Jovanotti, presented at the Rome Film Fest on 16 October.

Seven years alongside Lorenzo

Dario Zonta and Carlo Zoratti followed the artist for seven years. The 83-minute documentary explores music, cycling, success and family memories. The festival’s official synopsis describes a journey into the more intimate parts of his life.

Letting someone else take a look

At the presentation, Lorenzo explained that he gave the directors freedom to shape the film. Watching himself was moving and unsettling: in the images he also recognised the child he still feels alive within him.

That is what makes us curious: a performer used to commanding a stage lets somebody else tell his story. Festival audiences had the first opportunity to discover the result; the special Italian cinema event follows in November.

When is it coming to cinemas?

• Title: Lorenzo – L’incredibile avventura di Jovanotti.

• Directors: Dario Zonta and Carlo Zoratti.

• Announced Italian release: 26 November–2 December 2026, a special event distributed by Plaion Pictures.

Check individual cinema listings for venues and times. The Rome premiere and the nationwide release are separate events.

A question to take home

Which little part of your life would you like to find in an old home movie? A voice, a kitchen, a laugh? Before searching for the perfect photograph, ask someone who has known you for years what they remember about you. They may bring back a scene you had forgotten.
