BEATRICE FAZI: WHEN WORK NO LONGER DECIDES YOUR WORTH.
An audition can end with a no. The trouble begins when that doesn't seem to talk about your whole person. A public witness of Beatrice Fazi opens a question about the value we entrust to work.

The message is kind. They thank you, they have chosen another person, they wish you the best. Read it again even if you already understand. A professional opportunity is over and, along with disappointment, comes a heavier thought: maybe they are not enough.
It can happen after an interview, a proposal left unanswered, a project that does not start. For an actress, that moment can take the form of an audition. Beatrice Fazi publicly told how the relationship between work and personal value changed within his journey of faith.
He spoke with Gianfranco Gramola in an interview dated 14 July 2015, published in Interviste Romane. It is from that conversation that starts this profile of Faith has a voice. The questions we ask the readers are by CHIARA!; the testimony is attributed to the original interview.
The role that comes and what doesn't come
In the interview Fazi tells the distance between the expectations placed in the show and the occasions actually received. He remembers unexpected disappointments and gratifications, including the role in A doctor in the family, who arrived after the producers had seen him at the theatre. He also talks about periods in which he measured himself through the work he obtained.
In describing the perspective gained with the conversion, he says that he no longer attaches value to his professional role. He presents his work as a service and links notoriety to the desire to evangelize. In that passage he says: "I prefer to call myself a catechist rather than an actress."
These are words spoken in a precise context, in 2015. They don't automatically tell each subsequent choice and don't erase the value of his craft. They give us the way you, then, read an important transformation of your life.
When an answer seems to decide everything
Perhaps you know the temptation to enlarge a result until it becomes a complete judgment. The project wasn't chosen, so you're not talented. The contract's over, so you weren't good enough. A person ignored you, so what you want doesn't deserve attention.
Work really matters. It can give income, autonomy, relationships, satisfaction. Losing an opportunity can have serious economic consequences, as well as hurting. Speaking of personal value must not minimize this reality or ask you to be immediately serene in the face of a concrete problem.
But we can make room for a distinction: a professional decision concerns a context, conditions and people we do not always know to the full. He can tell us something to understand or improve. It does not contain, alone, all the truth of our person.
Faith in a Craft exposed to Judgments
Her story may speak to anyone waiting for a call or living with uncertain work. When work feels shaky, our sense of worth can shake with it. Finding something steadier can take time—and someone beside us.
For a believer reader, the question can become more intimate: before God, what can I say about myself when I take away the name of the company, the role and the last result? Maybe you're having a hard time answering. You can also bring this effort into prayer, along with economic needs and the desire to work.
A relationship of faith can accompany an attempt to recognize one's love and responsibility even when something fails. It does not exempt us from looking for opportunities, preparing ourselves, asking for help. It can also give a place to the part of us that does not want to be always in evaluation.
Who knows you when you don't have to convince anyone?
There are people with whom the professional story can rest. You don't have to present yourself well, turn a disappointment into an opportunity for growth or immediately prove that you have a new plan. You can say you're tired and want company.
If a loved one received a no today, you might try to be there. Listen before you look for the reason it happened. Ask if you want practical help or just a little closeness. Avoid promising that something better will certainly come: we do not know, and his disappointment deserves listening even now.
Then, when the time comes, you can look at an application or a proposal. Concrete support counts as much as delicacy. It can help someone to take a new step without feeling obliged to hide what the former cost him.
His voice, in the SOUL video
Below you can listen to Beatrice Fazi in the SOUL interview broadcast on 11 February 2018, as Monica Mondo’s guest on TV2000. The video follows a journey of life and faith wider than the professional theme. This archive testimony is separate from the written interview of 2015 and is embedded through the broadcaster’s player.
A public story can open your own conversation, without having to look like it in every step. Perhaps the work will continue to be a great passion, perhaps today will be above all a necessity. You may want to do it well and look for an opportunity with all your strength. When an answer arrives, however, you can try to listen to it by remembering that your life has much more to tell.
