BANG CHAN AND FELIX: STRAY KIDS HAVE HEARTS THIS BIG!
Millions of fans, stages around the world and a quiet gesture: two members of the hugely popular K-pop band help children affected by floods in Nepal.

STAY, Stray Kids’ fans, know them by heart: perfect choreography, songs everywhere and eight members filling stadiums. But in September, Bang Chan and Felix made news for something entirely unrelated to the stage.
Felix’s birthday gift
On 15 September, Felix turned 26. Instead of receiving presents, he gave them. He donated 50 million won to UNICEF Korea’s emergency fund for children affected by floods in Nepal. Other money went to two paediatric hospitals in Seoul to treat children and young people with cancer and support families in difficulty, and to a project providing children with picture books in their mother tongue.
“I hope that many children’s days will be filled with hope rather than worries,” he said. Felix is also an ambassador for UNICEF Korea, and this was not his first gesture: he had previously helped children in Laos.
Bang Chan follows suit
A few days later, on 19 September, the group’s leader made his announcement. Bang Chan donated 100 million won to UNICEF Korea, also for Nepal’s children, and the same amount to a rehabilitation hospital in Seoul. “I wanted to bring a little comfort to those going through a difficult time,” he explained.
He has been committed for some time too: last year, for his birthday, he helped a paediatric ward and UNICEF again. Before them, Lee Know, another member of the band, had also donated towards flood relief in Nepal.
Fame becomes help
Being famous means having many eyes on you. Bang Chan and Felix chose to use that attention to help people look with them towards those in need. And you, STAY—did you know?
